Habatat Galleries is the oldest gallery to exhibit contemporary glass. We opened Habatat in 1971 (Michigan) to showcase the traditional fine arts, as well as other new and exciting mediums including photography and glass. By 1980, we made the commitment to focus exclusively on glass. Thirty-five years later, it is rewarding to see museum after museum incorporate glass into their collections and exhibition schedules and, to many, become a valued focus. Over the years, Habatat Galleries has been involved in curating over 60 museum exhibitions worldwide and has consistently published catalogues documenting the glass movement. Habatat has four locations and represents over 100 of the finest glass artists in the world. Artists represented include William Morris, Dale Chihuly, Dan Dailey, Daniel Clayman, Jon Kuhn, and David Bennett.
Habatat Galleries works with and advises private collectors, museums, corporations, art consultants, and architects in building major collections and site-specific installations. We also work with many people who might not consider themselves avid collectors, but who are looking for a few special pieces for their home or office.
