Summer
2007
Elaine Baker Gallery is pleased to announce
the continuation of sculpture by Ernest TROVA, exhibiting
through July, 2007. The exhibition is open for viewing
Tuesday – Saturday from 10AM to 5PM.
Renowned sculptor Ernest Trova began his artistic career as many others
of his time did, first with cubist painting, then collage, finally graduating
to sculpture. Unlike those of his generation however, Trova’s career
began in St Louis, outside of the rapidly growing New York City art world.
In St Louis, Trova first embarked on the Falling Man series, which was
to become the major theme of his work. This series juxtaposing man’s
iconic perfection and imperfection, creates a contrasting dialogue between
Trova’s vulnerable human forms, and the durable materials of which
they are made. These forms discuss man’s literal vs. figurative
success and failure, while commenting on his development in the technological
age.
August – September 2007, Elaine Baker Gallery will
be previewing the 2007/2008 season with selected works by Lynn Chadwick,
Daniel Chadwick, Jun Kaneko, recently acquired artist Sophie Matisse,
and Doug Ohlson.
Elaine Baker Gallery is located in the Gallery Center at 608 Banyan Trail
in Boca Raton, Florida. For more information please contact Cristin Lane
